In response to the inquiry report into "Was the NHS Plan really a blueprint for the NHS - 10 years on?" released by the All Party Parliamentary Group Primary Care & Public Health today. Mubeen Bhutta Policy Manager at the British Heart Foundation said:

"We welcome this report which echoes the vision for the next decade of the Cardio Vascular Coalition.

"We know prevention measures are the most effective way to reduce illness and prevent premature death. With rising obesity rates and an increasigly ageing population we need a heart strategy that is ready for the challenges ahead.

"There has been great progress over the past ten years, but without a renewed strategic approach we run the risk of that progress slipping away."
